Abstract: The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the healthcare field is gaining popularity. However, it also raises some concerns related to privacy and ethical aspects that require the development of a responsible AI framework. The principle of responsible AI states that artificial intelligence-based systems should be considered a part of composite societal and technological systems. This study attempts to establish whether AI risks in digital healthcare are positively associated with responsible AI. The moderating effect of perceived trust and perceived privacy risks is also examined. The theoretical model was based on perceived risk theory. Perceived risk theory is important in the context of this study, as risks related to uneasiness and uncertainty can be expected in the development of responsible AI due to the volatile nature of intelligent applications. Our research provides some interesting findings which are presented in the discussion section. Collapse

Abstract: As the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into team decision-making continues to expand, it is both theoretically and practically pressing for researchers to understand the impact of the technology on team dynamics and performance. To investigate this relationship, we conducted an online experiment in which teams made decisions supported by chatbots and employed computational methods to analyze team interaction processes. Our results indicated that compared to those assisted by chatbots in later phases, teams receiving chatbot assistance during the initial phase of their decisionmaking process exhibited increased cognitive diversity (i.e., diversity in shared information) and information elaboration (i.e., exchange and integration of information). Ultimately, teams assisted by chatbots early on performed better. These results imply that introducing AI at the beginning of the process can enhance team decision-making by promoting effective information sharing among team members. Collapse

Abstract: As AI increasingly assists teams in decision-making, the study examines how technology shapes team processes and performance. We conducted an online experiment of team decision-making assisted by chatbots and analyzed team interaction processes with computational methods. We found that teams assisted by a chatbot offering information in the first half of their decision-making process performed better than those assisted by the chatbot in the second half. The effect was explained by the variation in teams' information-sharing process between the two chatbot conditions. When assisted by the chatbot in the first half of the decision-making task, teams showed higher levels of cognitive diversity (i.e., the difference in the information they shared) and information elaboration (i.e., exchange and integration of information). The findings demonstrate that if introduced early, AI can support team decision-making by acting as a catalyst to promote team information sharing. Collapse

Abstract: When IT work is performed through digital labor markets, IT professionals have a high degree of personal responsibility for their careers and must use appropriate strategies to be successful. This paper investigates the success of IT freelancers on digital labor platforms. Drawing on signaling theory, a dataset of 7166 IT freelancers is used to examine how activating, pointing, and supporting signals lead to success. Analysis was carried out using negative binomial regression. The results indicate that the three signaling types positively influence the objective career success of IT freelancers. This paper contributes to the literature by testing signaling theory in the new context of digital labor platforms, investigating IT specifics, and proposing support as a new type of signal for IT professionals on digital labor platforms. In practice, the results provide guidelines for IT freelancers to improve their success within their careers. Collapse

Abstract: Organizations are being impacted by the rapid advances in Information Technology (IT), and motivated IT leaders are critical. Gender is also an issue in IT since women are underrepresented in IT leadership positions worldwide and in Latin America. This research in progress aims to assess a model of factors that could impact the motivation to lead of IT professionals. The proposed model integrates the occupational culture framework and the construct of the importance of gender equality policies. Previous research found that people in the IT occupation have unique characteristics that are different from other occupations. The theoretical frameworks of motivation to lead and IT occupational culture (ITOC) serve as a foundation for our research model. In addition, the construct importance of gender policies was designed and validated for this research. Abstract: Innovation is widely acknowledged as a key driver of firm performance, with patents serving as unique indicators of a company's technological advancements. This study aims to investigate the impact of textual novelty within patents on firm performance, focusing specifically on biotechnology startups listed on the Nasdaq. Utilizing deep learning-based approaches, we construct measures for semantic originality in patent texts. Through panel vector autoregressive (VAR) analysis, our empirical findings demonstrate a positive correlation between textual novelty and abnormal stock returns. Further, impulse response function analysis indicates that the impact of textual novelty peaks approximately one week after patent issuance and gradually diminishes within a month. These insights offer valuable contributions to both the theoretical understanding and practical application of innovation management and strategic planning. Collapse

Abstract: Information systems (IS) are frequently designed to leverage the negative effect of anchoring bias to influence individuals ' decision-making (e.g., by manipulating purchase decisions). Recent advances in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the explanations of its decisions through explainable AI (XAI) have opened new opportunities for mitigating biased decisions. So far, the potential of these technological advances to overcome anchoring bias remains widely unclear. To this end, we conducted two online experiments with a total of N=390 participants in the context of purchase decisions to examine the impact of AI and XAI-based decision support on anchoring bias. Our results show that AI alone and its combination with XAI help to mitigate the negative effect of anchoring bias. Ultimately, our findings have implications for the design of AI and XAIbased decision support and IS to overcome cognitive biases. Collapse
