Abstract: Employees often use enterprise social media (ESM) for communication, collaboration, and knowledge sharing, leading to ESM networks–that is, social networks of interrelated employees based on ESM. Many organizations possess ESM networks, and there is increasing research on their consequences for employees depending on how these employees are positioned in such networks. ESM network research is complex and consists of various interrelated dimensions. However, a synthesis of the abovementioned studies is lacking. Therefore, the current body of knowledge may obfuscate how the different dimensions interrelate, impeding a more holistic understanding of the consequences that employees may experience depending on their network positions. Moreover, there is little understanding of which research topics in this area have been addressed to date and where further research is needed. This paper addresses these gaps by means of a literature review and research agenda that synthesizes past studies. The results emphasize that whether ESM are beneficial for and exert a positive influence on employees largely depends on the employees’ positions in the underlying networks. Collapse

Abstract: Online fashion retail is gaining importance and faces challenges in addressing its environmental impact. Targeting sustainable product choices presents an opportunity to contribute to the sustainable development of online retail. This can be accomplished through digital nudging, a technique influencing consumer behavior. Based on nudging theory, an online experiment is conducted employing simplification and social norm nudges to examine their impact on sustainable product choice in online retail. A dataset of 461 participants is analyzed using contingency analysis and logistic regression. The results reveal that the simplification nudge increases sustainable product choice. Contrarily, the social norm nudge positively affects the non-nudged sustainable product choice. Further, the simplification nudge negatively affects subsequent sustainable behavior, while the social norm nudge shows insignificant effects, indicating negative spillover effects of the simplification nudge. Finally, theoretical implications and recommendations for introducing digital nudging tools to promote sustainable choices in online retail are derived. Collapse

Abstract: Security incidents are increasing in a wide range of organizational types and sizes worldwide. Although various threat models already exist to classify security threats, they seem to take insufficient account of which organizational assets the threat events are targeting. Therefore, we argue that conducting more job-specific IT security training is necessary to ensure organizational IT security. This requires considering which assets employees use in their daily work and for which threat events employees need to build up IT security competencies. Subsequently, we build a framework-based Cyber Security Domain Model (CSDM) for IT-secure behavior. We follow the Evidence Centered Assessment Design (ECD) to provide a deep- dive analysis of the domain for IT-secure behavior. As the leading result relevant for research and practice, we present our CSDM consisting of 1,087 cyber threat vectors and apply it to five job specifications. Collapse

Abstract: Digital transformation (DT) continues to shake up firms and societies at large. Despite a growing number of studies covering a wide array of aspects of DT's content, evidence of how DT unfolds in firms remains fragmented. Thus far, the literature has provided punctual insights into firms' DT processes through single and multiple case studies. However, we lack a holistic understanding of the DT process. Adopting a qualitative meta-synthesis, we analyze 64 cases to inductively develop a DT process model depicting six phases (i.e., initiating, preparing, mobilizing, implementing, disseminating, and iterating). The process evolves on two levels-one rather sequential and one non-linear. We contribute to literature by introducing a synthesized process model tailored to DT's complex nature. Besides, our model provides practitioners with a frame for assessing the progress of their DT journey and outlining a roadmap for their digital endeavor. Collapse

Abstract: Companies across all industries currently strive to master their digital transformation (DT) endeavors. For successful DT, a firm's top management team (TMT) must embrace the challenge holistically, especially given that the inherent complexity of DT points towards shared responsibilities rather than single ownership. However, literature primarily considers individual TMT roles and their involvement in DT. Hence, a comprehensive picture of how DT is steered in the TMT is missing. To integrate the dispersed and position-specific literature, we conducted a systematic literature review. We structure the various contributions by grouping them along three emerging main research clusters, i.e., tasks and functions; relationships; changes and outcomes. This study provides a synopsis of the management of DT in the Csuite and outlines several avenues for further research in this field. For practitioners, we lay the groundwork for designing an effective DT governance system in the TMT, which assists in successfully managing DT. Collapse

Abstract: Using an active learning framework proposed by Shroff et al (2019), our study evaluates the impact of technology-enabled active learning (TEAL) on student learning in an Australian business school. Our study used the individual reflections of accounting students as the data collection strategy and content analysis. Our findings suggest that the three constructs of the framework -interactive engagement enabled by the technology during and after the workshops, development of problem-solving skills throughout the learning process, and individualized learning context facilitated by the accounting technology have all positively contributed to the learning effectiveness. We also found that technology-enhanced scaffolds designed in the learning process have aided in the consolidation of learning and increasing learning effectiveness. However, our study observed that while technology was expected to have positive influence on students' curiosity and interest -fourth factor in the framework, lack of student effort, poor timing of feedback, and the absence of a sense of challenge, have limited the learning. Abstract: This study introduces the IT Occupation Vision, a new conceptual and methodological framework, to examine structural changes in IT occupations. It also highlights the role of industry discourse in shaping those changes. The approach suggests that these occupations are shaped by a latent collective consensus that influences labor market categories. Adapting Relational Class Analysis (RCA), a type of Schematic Class Analysis, the study leverages textual signals from online job advertisements to scrutinize structural changes in IT roles and skill sets. This work bridges Organizing Vision and diffusion literature with the IT workforce, providing insights into the interaction between innovation, skills, and emerging technologies. Unlike the Organizing Vision theory, which is artifact-centric, the IT Occupational Vision focuses on the labor aspects associated with these technological innovations. Abstract: Video conferencing systems are widely used in times of distributed teams since they support flexible work arrangements. However, they have negative impacts on users, such as lacking eye gaze or zoom fatigue. Adaptive interventions in video conferences based on user behavior provide interesting solutions to overcome these challenges, for example, by alerting users when looking tired. Specifically, biosignals measured by sensors like microphones or eye-trackers are a promising basis for adaptive interventions. To provide an overview of current biosignal-based user-adaptive video conferencing systems, we conducted a systematic literature review and identified 24 publications. We summarize existing knowledge in a morphological box and outline further research directions. Thereby, a focus on biooptical signals is visible. Current adaptations target audience feedback, expression understanding and eye gaze mostly by image and representation modifications. In future, we recommend including further biosignals and addressing more diverse problems by investigating adaptation capabilities of further software elements. Collapse
