Abstract: Sharing economy transportation applications reduce car ownership and single-vehicle occupancy, contributing to the region’s environmental sustainability. Metaverse is a promising new technology that combines sharing economy applications with transportation networks. By combining these two approaches, authorities can improve the sustainability of sharing economy applications. This study aims to assist decision-makers and au­ thorities by developing a multi-criterion decision-making (MCDM) model that prioritizes three sharing economybased metaverse integration alternatives, namely integrating safety measures, payment systems, and the opti­ mization of operations in the metaverse. A novel multi-criteria framework, including fuzzy Schweizer-Sklar norms based on the Ordinal Priority Approach (OPA) to assess the metaverse integration alternatives, is developed. To rank the alternatives, non-linear processing of information based on the fuzzy Schweizer-Sklar weight assessment method (SWAS) is proposed. A case study is developed to provide a foundation for the ex­ perts’ evaluations using twelve criteria, which are organized into four aspects namely, economic, user, opera­ tional, and advancement. Abstract: EditorialLiterature review in the generative AI era -how to make a compelling contribution As we write this editorial for this special issue, we are amidst the significant technological changes that are continuing to shape society. Since the emergence of ChatGPT in November 2022, humanity has become aware of the potential of generative AI (i.e., AI that can generate content) and large language models (LLMs) (i.e., AI models trained on a massive corpus of unstructured data). There is growing debate and discussion about the promise and perils of generative AI for the future of work, and academia is not immune. Premier journals in the IS domain, such as Information Systems Research, have published editorials on what the emergence of generative AI means for IS research (see Susarla et al., 2023). Other journals have also published editorials on the role of generative AI whether it is an assistant or a co-author/collaborator (e.g., Offiah and Khanna, 2023;Nah et al., 2023). These editorials have discussed various AI capabilities and limitations. However, they also assert that human researchers must fact-check the interpretation of the LLMs because they are prone to hallucinations and may be trained on irrelevant data, resulting in inaccurate inferences. In this editorial, we will explore what the emergence of generative AI and LLMs means for literature reviews, in general, and literature reviews in the IS domain, in particular.AI tools for literature reviews became a topic of inquiry in 2018 when the use of iris.ai was discussed in research (Extance, 2018). Iris.ai automatically generates a summary, extracting key themes from the existing literature. Two editors experimented with iris.ai to comprehend the "digital sustainability" research landscape, where iris.ai requires a description of the research problem or the URL of an existing paper. They used excerpts from George et al. (2021), 1 a pivotal study on digital sustainability, to explore the literature. They initially used the abstract to frame the research problem. The results suggested that the literature can be categorized into five categories: digital, entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial organizations, sustainability, and novel questions. The editors also received peer feedback on this result generated by an AI tool. While the peers appreciated the use of AI tools, they highlighted aspects such as lack of explainability (i.e., lack of clarity on how the tool arrived at this map) and interpretability (i.e., how to make a coherent, consistent sense of the results). Ultimately, the authors decided against using AI and relied instead on conventional literature search techniques to revise their manuscript in response to reviewers' comments (see Pan and Nishant, 2023). In their debate and perspective piece, Wagner et al. (2022) discussed various AI tools for literature review and argued that AI-based literature reviews are not an end in themselves.The emergence of ChatGPT and LLMs has resulted in the development of numerous new literature search tools and approaches. For example, Bing AI, based on GPT-4, can be used to summarize the literature on a specific topic. It can also provide some ideas for future prompts, or researchers can experiment with prompts to gather more information on the topic's related literature. Abstract: How do investors' risk preferences influence the relationships between investors' online channel use intensity and both their trading behaviors and performance? This study answers this important question even as investors are increasingly rely on the Internet for their trading activities. We leverage rare and unique micro-level historical dataset from more than 7,000 investor accounts over a 44-month period between 2010 and 2013 at a large brokerage firm in China. The dataset and analyses enable us to provide new insights into how investors' online channel use intensity and risk preferences jointly influence their trading behaviors and performance, even though some other aspects of financial markets have changed considerably over the years. The findings reveal that although online channel use intensity is associated with increased trading volume, trading frequency, and investment returns, these effects differ across investors with different risk preferences. We find that while online channel use intensity has strong positive effects on transaction frequency for both risk-seeking and risk-averse investors, it has a much lower effect on trading volume for risk-averse investors than for risk-seeking investors. We further find that risk-averse investors with higher online channel use intensity outperform investors with other risk preferences in terms of investment performance. This paper contributes to the emerging literature at the intersection of information systems and behavioral finance by revealing the moderating role of risk preferences in the relationships between investors' online trading channel use intensity and both their trading behaviors and outcomes. Abstract: ChatGPT demonstrates the advanced natural language capabilities of generative AI-based chatbots. Nevertheless, its sophisticated responses are prone to errors. Prior research has explored the effects of errors on retrieval-based chatbot adoption, but there is a lack of incorporating the advancements of generative-based chatbot's natural language capabilities. This study investigates the effects of generativebased chatbots and errors on chatbot adoption. To achieve this, a 2 (retrieval-based vs. generative-based chatbot) x 2 (error-free vs. error) experiment investigating a car recommendation set was conducted.The study shows that errors are less likely to be noticed in the generative-based chatbot condition, and participants assign higher levels of competence towards the generative-based chatbot. Furthermore, the higher assigned levels of competence positively impact trust and rapport as drivers of chatbot adoption. The results provide theoretical contributions towards the role of competence and relational elements in chatbot adoption research, and highlight issues of erroneous AI interactions. Collapse

Abstract: Existing research on technology affordance rarely considers the role of social structures in shaping the interaction between human actors and technology. In this paper, we draw upon the concept of social positioning to explore how socialized affordances of technology adoption, as well as their impact in work and social life, are shaped by the social positions that human actors occupy within multiple social structures. We do so by examining the adoption of mHealth devices by community health workers in India. The study generates theoretical implications for research on affordances of technology and social structures by integrating social positioning of actors in the analysis of a digital practice, and enriching IS research by incorporating the broader social arrangements and power relations. Abstract: This study moves beyond the conventional focus on technology access, adoption, and participation in communities, and instead presents a perspective on digital inclusion as a complex process of both empowerment and subjugation. Drawing on Foucault's theorization on subjectivity and power, our case study of community health workers in rural India reveals that the adoption of an mHealth application simultaneously subordinated and strengthened the subjectivity of the community health workers. The study explicates the process through which the health workers oscillated between the enhancement of their individual efficacy, and their submission to institutionalized power as facilitated by the mHealth application during their everyday work practices. Thus, by shifting the focus from "who" is digitally included to "how" they become digitally included, our research provides a fresh perspective that enriches and deepens the discourse of digital inclusion. It generates both theoretical and practical implications for anyone interested in understanding digital inclusion from a more granulated and practice-based perspective. Collapse

Abstract: Revising a manuscript after receiving a revise-and-resubmit decision from a top-tier journal can be just as arduous as developing a new paper from scratch. In this editorial, based on our experiences revising papers over the years, we provide roadmaps and guidelines for completing successful revisions for top journals. In doing so, we offer practical tips for completing three major tasks—making sense of a review packet, revising a manuscript, and crafting responses to reviewer comments. We conclude by recommending that authors be active reviewers themselves because, by doing so, they can develop their own insights on how peer review works and become more skillful at revising their papers and responding to reviewers. However, despite the use of AI, businesses continue to face challenges and are unable to immediately realize performance gains. Furthermore, firms need to introduce robust AI systems and mitigate AI risks, which emphasizes the importance of creating suitable AI governance practices. This study, explores how AI governance is applied to promote the development of robust AI applications that do not introduce negative effects, based on a comparative case analysis of three firms in the energy sector. The study illustrates which practices are placed to produce knowledge that assists with decision making while at the same time overcoming barriers with recommended actions leading to desired outcomes. Abstract: In this paper, we explore how techno-legal configurations shape the evolution of an information infrastructure (II) by focusing on data as its critical components. We define techno-legal configurations as assemblages, which are technologically determined by the functionalities for data storage, processing, sharing and usage, and legally determined by the basis for data processing, such as consent, data-processing agreements or laws. To study II's evolution we conduct an 11-year study of a regional II in Norway as electronic patient record data and patient-generated healthcare data were shared within and across hospital organizations. We show how the considerations of data as internal and external to organizations are continuously renegotiated across techno-legal configurations, which we define as harmonized space and disparate space. We contribute to the II literature by raising the importance of the law in shaping the boundaries across which data can be produced, shared and used. Collapse

Abstract: This paper investigates data governance empirically by conducting a retrospective study of the ten-year evolution of a national digital service for personal health data in Norway. We show how data governance unfolds over time as data become shared and itinerant across multiple actors. Building on our findings, we introduce the concept of data governance spaces to refer to the authorized relationships among multiple actors, which specify the boundaries of decision-making authority, rights, roles, and responsibilities around data processing. We contribute to the litera­ ture on data governance by distinguishing between a) authority multiplication, where data are handed over to other actors to serve diverse purposes triggering horizontal dynamics, and b) actor subordination, where authorities delegate data handling for uniform purposes triggering vertical dynamics. Overall, the paper extends prior research by showing how data governance unfolds beyond intra-, or inter-organizational boundaries and shifts attention to data’s pivotal role, and the purposes for which data are collected, shared or used across multiple actors.
