Abstract: The aim of this research was to explore the conditions under which digital innovation opportunities emerge in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The research answered the question of what capabilities are required to shape the exploitation of digital innovation, namely market offerings and the digital business process. To address the research question with a quantitative research method, data were collected through survey questionnaires distributed among 280 SMEs operating in the service and manufacturing industries in Finland. The results revealed that among four digital-related capabilities—namely human, collaboration, technical, and innovation capabilities—human, technical, and innovation capabilities contribute to market offerings, while human, collaboration, and technical capabilities contribute to the business process. Abstract: Extra-role security behavior has been recognized as a salient element of information security. Drawing upon the research on proactivity in the management literature, we identify ‘felt responsibility for constructive change’ (FRCC) as an important proactive motivational state that drives the behavior. We then follow proactive motivation theory and seek the contextual element and individual difference that precede FRCC. Based on buy-in theory, we propose that user participation in the development of information security-related activities and artifacts induces FRCC. To balance context specificity with generality, we model the individual difference of proactive personality as a moderator of this relation. Our model expands the scope of studying behavioral security by addressing users’ proactive involvement in protecting organizations’ information assets, as opposed to only examining reactive and passive user involvement. Further, the model extends the literature by addressing how promoting positive pre-kinetic events serves organizational information security. Collapse

Abstract: In this practitioner-oriented research, we describe how "Zerodha" entered and disrupted the Indian stock trading industry through the use of technology by overcoming the challenges of (1) developing a new business offering that is accessible to all, (2) gaining trust across the community, and (3) fostering and growing their business ecosystem. Abstract: Drawing on construal level theory, prior literature has found a positivity bias in online ratings when consumers evaluate an experience from a psychological distance, whether spatial or temporal. Selfdistancing theory posits that psychological distance enables individuals to reflect on psychologically distant negative experiences more genuinely, in a less biased way. This raises the question of whether the positivity bias in ratings due to psychological distance persists for negative experiences. To address this question, we collected data from a large review platform that enables the identification of reviewers' spatial and temporal distance. The negativity of an experience was operationalized via review text sentiment. We introduced spatial and temporal distance as moderators between sentiment negativity and ratings and found a negative moderation by spatial distance and a positive moderation by temporal distance. Our findings indicate that the relationship between sentiment negativity and rating grows stronger under spatial distance and gets weaker under temporal distance. Text mining confirmed selfdistancing as the driver behind the spatial moderation and construal levels as the driver behind the temporal moderation. We attribute the asymmetric moderations to differences in the tangibility of spatial distance (more tangible) and temporal distance (less tangible). These results improve our understanding of reviewing behavior and can help platforms de-bias ratings. Collapse

Abstract: Technology acceptance is crucial, if newly implemented enterprise systems (ES) in a company are to succeed. This is often addressed by end-user training during the implementation project. Perceived enjoyment and positive user experience (UX) have gained significant importance as technology acceptance factors. Yet, research on the design of such trainings is scarce, and literature with focus on perceived UX of ES even more so. This is in contrast to findings from other contexts which show that perceived UX may heavily impact user attitudes and learning motivation. As a first endavour in this direction, this paper presents an exploratory pre-study on first impressions of main operating ES with regard to expected usability and UX. Results show that ES are rated low, especially when compared to a universal UX benchmark. We discuss how more positive first impressions may positively impact motivation to learn the system, which will be investigated in a follow-up study. Collapse

Organizations strive to leverage predictive process analytics to obtain insights. However, current implementations are designed to deal with homogeneous data. Consequently, there is limited practical use in an organization with heterogeneous data sources. The paper proposes a method for predictive end-to-end enterprise process network monitoring leveraging multi-headed deep neural networks to overcome this limitation. Abstract: Continuous investments into the digitalization of public services call for assessments of the success of such initiatives. However, studies on e-government evaluation from citizens' perspectives are scanty, particularly in developing countries. Despite the negative effects the digital divide has on emerging economies, the impact of multi-dimensional digital divide on the success of e-government systems in such countries has not been adequately examined. Contemporary Internet-based systems characterized by personalization and customization generate varying user experiences. Hence, calls for information systems (IS) success development measures to capture intangible and subjective benefits derived not only from traditional and utilitarian values but also social values to reflect the contemporary complexities of online user interactions. This study investigates e-government success as public value from citizens' perspective amidst the effects of the digital divide. Abstract: Digital ecosystem governance entails the management of complex, dynamic power relationships. As entrant platform providers seek to cultivate an ecosystem, they must carefully navigate these power relationships when dealing with governance tensions. Providers generally seek to leverage the ecosystem's generative potential by facilitating a variety of interactions and distributing design rights. Simultaneously, they need to ensure stability and order by imposing rules that resolve contentious matters and restrict ecosystem participants' degrees of freedom. This study explores how and why providers can induce ecosystem actors to engage in collaborative negotiation regarding such governance tensions through a case study of the introduction of an open data platform in the Swedish public transport sector. Our analysis offers three main contributions. First, it provides an empirical demonstration that entrepreneurial threats, as well as opportunities, can trigger platform launches and drive collaborative negotiation of digital ecosystem governance. Second, it extends conceptualizations of boundary resources beyond the current focus on transactional elements by demonstrating the role of interactive boundary resources in the negotiation of governance grounded in both social and systemic power relationships. Third, it shows how positive reinforcement can complement punitive measures to increase acceptance of design rules. Collapse
