Abstract: Virtual hospitals offer a platform for healthcare workers to share knowledge, treat patients equally everywhere and, thus, reduce patient mortality rates. Such platforms include different technologies, for example telemedical applications. The use of these technologies and the need to get specific knowledge on the patients’ treatment was reinforced in the past years due by Covid-19. Not only the treatment of Covid-19, but also that of other diseases can be improved by increased technology use. By incorporating the KM success model, we will identify KM success factors leading to the use of virtual hospitals. This research observes the KM success model in the context of the low-digitalized field of healthcare. Consequently, we evaluate how the existing KM success model needs to be adjusted according to the peculiarities of healthcare. Collapse

Abstract: This study explores how to design an information system that facilitates the resilience of supply chains and the collaboration of different stakeholders during various crises. The ultimate objective of this study is to develop a knowledge base for formalizing design principles essential for designing and conceptualizing the Community Collaboration Support System to facilitate the resilience of supply chains during a crisis. To derive the design principles, we followed the design science research approach. Drawing from the literature, this paper used kernel theories as a part of the process. The design principles are well positioned and aligned with the acquired knowledge base. This study contributes to the existing research in distributed and collaboration technology. Abstract: Digital Platform Ecosystems (DPEs) represent a distinct form of interorganizational relationship cultivated on digital infrastructures. Although DPEs are researched extensively among management scholars, shortcomings in formalizing their emergence remain. Particularly re-occurring patterns and temporal dimensions of emergence continue to be relatively unexplored. We review existing literature in an integrative manner and shed light on DPE emergence by deriving a framework comprising four distinct stages. We thereby sharpen the understanding of DPEs and bring convergence to an increasingly fragmented field of research by accounting for industrial innovation management, organizational, market-based, and ecosystem-based views. As a result, we present a classification of DPE emergence stages and related key activities contributing to the progression from a nascent digital platform into a wide-spanning DPE. Abstract: In the current era of digital transformations, numerous organizations integrate information and communication technologies (ICTs) into their core operations. However, such transformations can lead to novel risks that have to be governed in the face of disruptions. The emergence of a new risk landscape has given rise to new concepts aimed at safeguarding ICT-based operations. One of these is digital resilience (DR), a complex concept that has recently received attention from academia and regulatory bodies. However, prior work has often studied it inconsistently and offered different suggestions on how to build DR. To foster a comprehensive understanding of DR within information systems (IS), we have conducted a systematic literature review and conceptualized the problem by drawing on intellectual capital (IC) theory. We contribute to research and organizational practice by offering a novel framework with three main sub-capabilities and a comprehensive range of supporting micro-foundation, which unveils areas for future research. Abstract: This study focuses on digital operational resilience (DOR) to ensure the stability of increasingly integrated digital services, which is currently receiving heightened attention due to ongoing environmental crisis situations. Researchers often relate DOR to planning and preparation activities, such as business continuity or disaster recovery planning. However, some types of organisationssuch as scale-upstend to lack elaborate plans for crisis situations, mainly driven by their rapid growth and resource constraints. Such firms seem to regularly engage in non-routine responses to overcome sudden disruptions, namely heuristics (i.e., swift decisions) and improvisation (i.e., swift actions). We present preliminary results of an in-depth case study demonstrating how a FinTech scale-up applied heuristics and improvisation for its crisis response. We show how the consequences of such non-routine responses go beyond immediate crisis resolution, incurring either negative effects that need to be managed (coping debt) or opportunities to be leveraged (new/revised business processes). Abstract: Existing studies have suggested that enterprise social media (ESM) may be especially appropriate in facilitating the initial formation of guanxi, while public social media (PSM) is more suited to driving guanxi development past the initial stage. However, the different patterns of social media use in the context of guanxi development, and the antecedent factors that give rise to those patterns are two salient issues that remain understudied. We conducted a case study with the aim of exploring these issues, which revealed six user archetypes representing the different ways that the use of ESM and PSM can be combined for guanxi development. In addition, we identify a range of antecedent factors that influence how ESM and PSM are used. The user archetypes identified not only constitute a conceptual innovation, but also advance the sophistication of the current perspective of social media use in the context of guanxi development. Abstract: The failure rate of fintech platforms is disproportionately high, which may be because (1) there is a lack of published knowledge on the appropriate strategies to adopt and/or (2) the traditional prescriptions for strategy may be less relevant in the context of fintech platforms. To ascertain either or both of these possibilities, we conducted a comprehensive review of the fintech literature and found that not only is there a relative paucity of research on Fintech Strategies, but there are also important limitations associated with the existing works. To address these limitations, we first identified the unique characteristics of fintech platforms and the strategic implications of those characteristics. Next, we adapted a framework made up of six conventional core logics of strategy and juxtaposed the prescriptions of those logics with the unique characteristics identified. Finally, we constructed a research agenda consisting of a number of open questions based on our analysis to provide directions for future research in this area. The agenda suggests that fintech platform strategies have to account for competing institutional logics stemming from the platforms' dual identity and the tensions between conforming for legitimacy and differentiating for competitive advantage. There is also a need to account for an exceptionally dynamic and unpredictable regulatory landscape, as well as the responses and competitive actions of influential market incumbents. Collapse

Abstract: As phishing becomes increasingly sophisticated and costly, interventions that improve and prolong resistance to attacks are needed. Previous research supported digital training as a method to reduce phishing susceptibility. However, the effects of training degrade with time. Therefore, we investigate overlearning as an approach that may increase skill retention through repetition and developing automaticity. We performed a longitudinal experiment crossing overlearning with anti-phishing digital training (rule-based, mindfulness, and control). Participants were tested using email identification tests (immediately following and 10 weeks after training) and mock phishing messages delivered to their inboxes (1 week and 8 weeks following training). Results showed that compared to rule-based training, mindfulness training resulted in significantly greater retention in terms of better email discrimination and less susceptibility to phishing attacks but similar levels of caution towards phishing after 2 months. Overlearning resulted in significantly less susceptibility to phishing attacks and more caution towards phishing compared to no overlearning but did not impact the digital training approaches. Even so, mindfulness was more beneficial compared to overlearning. Altogether, the results demonstrate the stability of the benefits of mindfulness training over time in terms of mitigating phishing susceptibility without influencing the chances of missing legitimate emails.
