Abstract: The AI-generated voice (AIGV) has been widely applied in the short video industry to facilitate video creation. However, the impact of AIGV on digital consumer engagement (DCE) remains unclear. In light of this, the study investigates the effect of AIGV on DCE by analyzing a panel dataset with observations of 21,541 videos for 3,647 content creators on TikTok. Preliminary results of a series of fixed-effect panel regressions reveal that using AIGV has a significantly negative effect on DCE (5.4% reduction in the number of likes, 5.2% reduction in the number of comments, and 7.4% reduction in the number of shares). Our further analyses show that this negative effect is particularly significant at the rising action stage of short videos. With these findings, this study is expected to have theoretical contributions to the literature on short videos and practical implications about the appropriate usage of AIGV. Collapse

Abstract: This paper investigates the impacts of digital nudging on customer purchase decisions. Digital nudge is an online choice architecture that alters individual's behavior in a predictable way while preserving all the available options and keeping the same economic incentives. Most recently, academic research started to address the relationship between nudges and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) and found that personalized targeting algorithms influences individuals and collective behaviors in various ways that include undesired consequences for both end-users and firms. Drawing on literature of nudge and anchoring effect, this study proposes two types of nudges based on the transparency level: ambiguous badge (ex., Amazon's Choice) and specific badge (ex., Best Seller). We further hypothesize that specific badge will manipulate user's preferences to a less extent than ambiguous badge. Abstract: Drawing on organization character theory and corporate social responsibility (CSR) sensemaking, this study explores the CSR consistency of moral sensemaking in the company from top management to social media communication channels. First, we measure CSR moral sensemaking in top management team (TMT) letters and firm-generated content (FGC) on social media platform based on the dictionary developed from qualitative content analysis, topic modeling, and CSR expert rating. Second, we compare the moral sensemaking between two communication channels. Third, we investigate the relationship between moral sensemaking consistency and CSR engagement of the company. Our results contribute to the literature in business ethics, management, and social media research in IS. The study will also offer an alternative way for CSR evaluation and bring practical implications to CSR investors and rating agencies. Collapse

Abstract: This study delves into how employee proactiveness on enterprise social media can influence social outcomes at work, both positively and negatively. Drawing on social network and social exchange theories, we develop a model to understand how virtual proactiveness is perceived by leaders and coworkers. Using a round-robin design, we collected data from 281 respondents in 56 teams across three waves. The results show that affili­ ative and challenging proactiveness positively relate to leader-member and team-member exchanges. However, challenging proactiveness negatively affects team-member exchange, potentially leading to coworker envy. Abstract: Mobile applications have become popular tools for supporting healthy nutrition behavior. Current tools are primarily based on the detailed tracking of a user's direct consumption, thus intervening only during or even after a user has eaten something. With increasing home office hours (especially during the COVID-19 pandemic), people are eating more often at home, which has also led to a decrease in fruit and vegetable consumption. Therefore, we aim to support people in the food-shopping process. We suggest a mobile application that helps people reflect on their purchases and tries to nudge users toward healthier product choices. We conducted a pilot study with 31 participants who used the application for two consecutive weeks. During this time, we observed a decrease in the caloric values per 100 g of purchases. Furthermore, we collected positive feedback on the app regarding acceptance, usability, and user experience. Collapse

Abstract: As artificial intelligence (AI) solutions are being rapidly deployed, they increasingly compete with human labor. This study examines designers’ strategies in response to the threat from the introduction of an AI system for simple logo designs in a crowdsourcing design platform. We study designers who were active both before and after the introduction of the AI system to understand their responses to the threat from AI. Our study is informed by the theories of threat, specifically the protection motivation theory that posits that individuals will respond to threats based on their capabilities. We find that, although some designers who had primarily participated in contests for lower-tier, simple logo designs leave the platform, others continue to participate in these contests. Interestingly, designers who have higher capabilities, evidenced by their prior participation in more-complex higher-tier logo-design contests and contests in other nonlogo categories, move away from the primary locus of threat in the lower-tier and switch to the more-complex contests after the introduction of the AI system. More interestingly, we find that successful designers respond differently from unsuccessful designers on the platform. Although unsuccessful designers increase participation across multiple contests, they do not change the quality (emotional content and complexity) of their design submissions after the AI launch. In contrast, successful designers become more focused (i.e., they substantially increase the number of submissions within a contest) and more quality oriented (i.e., they increase emotional content and complexity of their design submissions) after the AI launch. These findings have important implications for the nascent research on the impacts of AI on users in a crowdsourcing platform and for the design of such platforms. Abstract: With the advancement of artificial intelligence technology, the robot industry in human-robot interactive service has rapidly developed. The purpose of this paper is to uncover user acceptance of humanrobot interactive service robots based on online reviews. Extract reviews the public service robots and the domestic service robots from YouTube uses word2vec, sentiment classification, and LDA (Latent Dirichlet Allocation) analysis methods for research. The results show that in the interactive technology, the public service robots, the domestic service robots, and the service robots can well receive the user's speech, gestures, and understanding of emotional states and navigating with and around. However, collaborating with humans, users may be more fearful and worried. At the same time, the positive topic of the public service robots is experience value, and the negative topic is system quality. Abstract: This Phase III report of the Management Curriculum for the Digital Era (MaCuDE) disciplinary task force on information systems (IS) synthesizes the main findings of the project's two earlier phases. Based on the synthesis, this report formulates the task force's recommendations (Phase III) for future IS curricula and graduate competencies associated with Big Data Analytics (BDA) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). During the MaCuDE project, the task forcecollaborating with the Association for Information Systems leadership on education-first (Phase I) surveyed a sample of representative universities to examine the status of IS education in the digital era. During the next phase (Phase II), the task force interviewed industry leaders regarding their information systems education needs with a focus on emerging BDA and AI needs. This report builds on Phase I and Phase II results and associated feedback from project stakeholders and outlines an IS curriculum framework that identifies projected competency levels for key IS competency areas (both new and changing) within the main IS program types related to BDA and AI education (undergraduate and graduate programs; IS programs, other business programs, and non-business programs) in the coming decade. Abstract: This paper represents the Phase II report of the Management Curriculum for the Digital Era (MaCuDE) disciplinary task force on information systems (IS). Aligned with the current work of the AIS (Association for Information Systems) and ACM (Association for Computing Machinery), we focus on the current and future industry driven educational needs and requirements posed by big data analytics (BDA), artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and related innovations. In this report, we probe and report on the views of industry leaders regarding BDA/AI education needs. We conducted 18 rich semi-structured interviews with a representative sample of industry leaders situated around key changes and issues related to workforce demands in digital transformation and associated educational needs. We performed a grounded theory based analysis of key themes in reported education needs. We note the shifting meaning of AI and BDA phenomena and identify three main organizational level needs for the digital eracapability improvement and transformation, decision-making strategies and tactics, and changes in operations or products -and connect them to three individual professional competencies necessary to deliver them: fundamental environmental competencies, data information and content, and system design competencies. Based on the analysis we outline several novel competency-based IS curriculum recommendations for the master's and undergraduate level IS education.Architecting for cloud: "And so the thing I noticed, a lot of these companies, when their data is growing so big and their database costs are running so high, they think about going towards Open Source Software, Open Source databases to store all the data and, hence, that creates a demand on the workforce to actually know how to use those. "Understanding data structures, architectures, and governance: "So that's his role, and the key requirement for that role again is Data Architecture, data Engineering and Data Management" Building and managing machine learning models: "Second, of course, is strong competency in the use of Machine Learning packages or models. This field is evolving aggressively." "For developing or programming our own AI solutions, our employees have no deep knowledge of mathematical models and how to build mature and value-creating AI applications." IS management and operations: "The talent sort of wars out there are really, really tough, and finding people who understand that, (how to) generate the data, use the data, think about the data, manipulate it are really, really important. I agree. It used to be you had to have people with Project Management. That was critical and that was everyone competed for that, and now it's that plus the data, the Machine Learning."Based on the data collected in this study, we cannot offer a clear answer to the questions of how BDA and AI affect areas that do not belong to the two main areas of the study. Given, however, how quickly BDA and AI have grown and how substantial related resource requirements are in organizations, it is clear that they already have an impact on several competency needs such as programming language selection, selection of BDA and AI tools based on cloud-based solutions, data architecture, data governance, service repertoires available on platform environments, and special characteristic of BDA and AI projects and how they affect education for project management needs and competencies. Summary of Findings Related to Individual CompetenciesGenerally, we observe a strong alignment and continuity between the recent information systems curriculum recommendations and the findings of this study. The data highlights the continued importance of IS core topics covered in all past curricula, such as data management, systems development, IT infrastructure and architecture (including security), and IS (project) management.The results also highlight also multiple areas that need more emphasis and careful design decisions when schools plan and implement their BDA and AI based programs: Integration of business and technology competencies in ways that allow seamless communication with both business and technology experts  A stronger emphasis on multiple life cycle models and concepts related to data management and data science than in the recent model curricula focused on system life cycles  Heightened focus on new dimensions of data analytics competencies (including communication-related elements such a storytelling and visualization)  The growing importance of ethics as a foundation for ensuring privacy and security of BDA and AI models  Need for more skills in statistics  Understanding the novel requirements that AI solutions set up for IT infrastructure  The importance of competencies in AI systems development and deployment. Abstract: Intelligence Augmentation Systems (IAS) allow for more efficient and effective corporate processes by means of an explicit collaboration between artificial intelligence and human judgment. However, the higher degree of system autonomy, along with the enrichment of human capabilities, amplifies pre-existing issues of the distribution of moral responsibility: If an IAS has caused harm, firms who have operated the system might argue that they lack control over its actions, whereas firms who have developed the system might argue that they lack control over its actual use. Both parties rejecting responsibility and attributing it to the autonomous nature of the system leads to a variety of technologically induced responsibility gaps. Given the wide-ranging capabilities and applications of IAS, such responsibility gaps warrant a theoretical grounding in an ethical theory, also because the clear distribution of moral responsibility is an essential first step to govern explicit morality in a firm using structures such as accountability mechanisms. As part of this paper, first the necessary conditions for the distribution of responsibility for IAS are detailed. Second, the paper develops an ethical theory of Reason-Responsiveness for Intelligence Augmentation Systems (RRIAS) that allows for the distribution of responsibility at the organizational level between operators and providers.
