Abstract: Vulnerable information systems inside an organization make it prone to cyber-attacks, leading to loss of reputation, financial loss, customer churn, and loss of future prospects. In our study, we assess, quantify, and mitigate the cyber-attack risk generated due to the vulnerable information technology assets using our proposed Vulnerability-based Cyber-Risk Management Model (VCRMM). We leverage Protection Motivation Theory and cyber-kill chain to assess the cyber risk based on specific characteristics of vulnerabilities. We perform text mining using the topic modelling technique, Latent Dirichlet Allocation, find a correlation between the topics, and then classify the severity rating of vulnerabilities. The higher the severity rating of any vulnerability, the greater the probability of cyber-attack (p) any organization faces. Next, we quantify the cyber-attack risk in terms of expected losses. Finally, based on Rational Choice Theory and NIST-guided Vulnerability Management Process, we propose mitigation strategies to reduce, accept, or transfer the cyber-attack risk. Collapse

Abstract: This study explores the impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on financial inclusion across 74 countries from 2011 to 2021. An ICT index derived using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) with indicators including internet penetration, fixed broadband subscriptions, and mobile cellular subscriptions, serves as the basis for analysis. Panel regression methods, including fixed effects and Panel Instrumental Variable (IV) regression, are employed. We measure financial inclusion through bank account ownership and access to borrowings from the Global Findex Database. The study reveals a statistically significant and positive influence of the ICT index on financial inclusion. Additionally, when categorizing nations into high-income and middle-income groups, ICT's role in enhancing financial inclusion, particularly in middle-income countries, becomes evident. This underscores the critical importance of robust ICT infrastructure, urging policymakers, especially in middle-income countries, to prioritize internet accessibility for fostering greater financial inclusion. Abstract: Information systems increasingly leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to generate value from vast amounts of data. However, ML models are imperfect and can generate incorrect classifications. Hence, humanin-the-loop (HITL) extensions to ML models add a human review for instances that are difficult to classify. This study argues that continuously relying on human experts to handle difficult model classifications leads to a strong increase in human effort, which strains limited resources. To address this issue, we propose a hybrid system that creates artificial experts that learn to classify data instances from unknown classes previously reviewed by human experts. Our hybrid system assesses which artificial expert is suitable for classifying an instance from an unknown class and automatically assigns it. Over time, this reduces human effort and increases the efficiency of the system. Our experiments demonstrate that our approach outperforms traditional HITL systems for several benchmarks on image classification. Collapse

Abstract: Hypercompetitive mobile app stores are characterized by rapid innovation and intense competition. App firms must vie for temporary competitive advantage through competitive actions such as releasing product improvements. We study how competitive indicators influence a particular competitive actionapp updates-in a mobile game app market. Our results reveal that app firms take action to improve or sustain their temporary competitive advantage, updating their apps when there are opportunities to capitalize on popularity (e.g., rank and rating volume are increasing) and when their apps' advantages are threatened (e.g., customer ratings are decreasing). We also find that app updates are released in response to competitors' actions-specifically, when competitors update their apps and new competitors enter ranking lists. Moreover, our findings show that app firms release app updates when an app's customer rating volume is increasing or when an app firm's portfolio of game apps is less diverse, relative to its competitors. We conduct additional analyses that show that older app firms are responsive to more competitive indicators than younger ones and major updates are primarily used to respond to serious threats to apps' competitive positions. Overall, our results indicate that app updates are competitive actions used to improve or sustain temporary advantage when competitive indicators reveal opportunities to improve or threats to apps' competitive positions. Abstract: Enabling Internet access while taking load of mobile networks, the concept of Wi-Fi sharing holds much potential. While trust-based concepts require a trusted intermediary and cannot prevent malicious behavior, for example, conducted through fake profiles, security-based approaches lack adequate accounting mechanisms and coverage. Against this backdrop, we develop a Wi-Fi sharing architecture based on blockchain technology and payment channel networks. Our contribution is twofold: First, we present a comprehensive collection of design principles for workable Wi-Fi sharing networks. Second, we propose and evaluate a reference architecture that augments current approaches with adequate accounting mechanisms and facilitates performance, scalability, security, and participant satisfaction. Abstract: The large number of publications in databases such as Web of Science or Scopus points to the growing interest of scientists in the importance of emerging Information and Communications Technologies (EICT) for ensuring sustainable development (SD). This article describes the concept of the research focusing on recognizing the state of research on artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, and Internet of Things adoption in various sustainability areas. The study concept was inspired by the authors' experience and the previous study results which aimed at providing a holistic view of the importance and scope of ICT research in the SD context. The article presents the four-stage research procedure and describes the results of the first three stages, which are preparatory. The scope of the study was indicated, the choice of the bibliometric database was justified, examples of prepared queries were given, the need to unify keywords was explained and examples of standardized words were given. Abstract: The literature proves that the implementation of Accounting Information Systems (AIS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems in Small and Medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) positively affects their performance. As to the systems offered in cloud computing, the previous research mainly focused on the benefits of choosing such a solution, eliminating many barriers in SMEs in the case of traditional onpremise solutions. In Poland, studies into Cloud-based AIS or Cloud ERP have not been previously described in scientific research. This article presents the results of an empirical study of 35 Polish SMEs running their accounts. The thematic scope went beyond the issues examined so far and included the dominant data processing models, types of AIS systems, the use of AIS to perform accounting functions, and the integration of functional areas with the accounting system. The main results indicate that in the surveyed SMEs: 1) cloud computing (CC) is the dominant model of data processing, 2) slightly more companies use stand-alone AIS than integrated ERP systems, 3) AIS is not used to perform all important accounting functions, and 4) most often the accounting system is integrated with the purchasing and sales system and the fixed assets system, and less frequently with the payroll and production service systems. Abstract: Digital servitization is of increasing concern for manufacturers to exploit the potentials of digitalization with new service offerings. In this context, substantial changes within a firm´s capabilities, processes and mindset of employees need to be considered. To better understand such changes, we carve out behavioral logics of manufacturers undergoing digital servitization. An alternate template research design is used to discover the entrepreneurial logics of effectuation, causation, and bricolage. For this purpose, we conducted 13 semi-structured interviews with experts from the German manufacturing industry. Our results show that firms approaching digital servitization via hybrid decision logics. Causation can be found within all organizations. Effectuation is integrated to various degrees. Against it, the bricolage-logic is barely present. In total, the results provide new insights for digital servitization and for organizational ambidexterity. Collapse

Abstract: Social media addiction during public unrest is a known phenomenon. Prior research has offered several drivers and theories to explain users' addictive behavior in this context. However, those investigations barely view this behavior from the lens of immigrant populations, a group of users whose access to information about unrest in their home country, unlike others, is solely limited to online platforms such as social media. In this research-in-progress paper, we aim to address this gap in the literature. Specifically, we draw our arguments on the opponent-process and belongingness theories and develop a theoretical model to test the moderating role of immigrants' sense of belonging to their home country on the opposing effects of social contribution and feeling of withdrawal experienced by immigrants during public unrest. Abstract: As the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) minitrack continues to evolve we have witnessed new and exciting avenues for exploration. In 2006, this minitrack was launched to provide an outlet for a variety of HCI research streams from a variety of disciplines. In 2013, we began including the areas neuroscience and design science. With the everincreasing role of information systems in all aspects of society, we moved the minitrack to the Internet and Digital Economy track in 2018, before joining forces with the minitrack on Digital Nudging in 2022. With a proliferation of input devices, contexts, and form factors, the area of human computer interaction has broadened considerably. At the same time, the design of human-computer interfaces continues to be a crucial factor influencing users' affective and cognitive reactions and behaviors; these trends-and otherscontribute to the continued need for theory-based HCI research in a variety of contexts and domains. Our aim is to get a truly cross-disciplinary understanding of HCI that informs research and impacts practice.The papers selected for the competitive HCI minitrack draw on this rich cross-disciplinary tradition. Given that HCI continues to evolve, we aim to provide a forum for the exchange of novel thoughts and ideas. We believe that the six papers presented in this minitrack are interesting, thought-provoking, and relevant for both research and practice. The accepted papers provide a cross-section of HCI and interface design issues in general as well as emerging contexts.The first set of papers broadly focuses on techniques to understand user behaviors during the interaction with human-computer interfaces. In the paper "Typing Fast versus Typing Slow: Using Typing Dynamics to Reveal Authentic and Imposter Users," draw on dual process theory to explain how task execution speeds are significantly faster when people have engaged in System 1 types of thinking (i.e., relying on intuition) than in System 2 thinking.
