Abstract: Online cancer communities established by non-profit cancer organisations help cancer-affected people seeking information and facing emotional and psychological challenges to communicate and interact with a network of people suffering from similar issues. However, the quality features of online cancer communities from the perception of users of the information are under-researched. Using the factors credibility, content, and design, this study adopted a multi-theory perspective by integrating the Information Quality (IQ) assessment framework, the source credibility model, and the two-factor theory for website design to develop a framework to examine the quality indicators of online cancer communities. Data collected via semi-structured interviews with 14 participants showed that dimensions underlying content and credibility factors are crucial for using the online community. All dimensions underlying the design factor were essential factors, except for the visualisation of the website and privacy and data protection that constituted motivating factors for using the online community. Abstract: This study aims to address the scant research on emerging economies, especially the rural population, which are expected to drive the significant growth of mobile payment services. We developed a research model using dual-factor theory as an overarching umbrella by considering the users’ perception of both enablers and inhibitors of mobile payments. The enablers and inhibitors of mobile payments were drawn from the extant literature, driving users’ satisfaction and leading to continued usage. To test the proposed research model, we collected responses from 412 respondents from rural settings in India. The study finds that the enablers positively affect satisfaction, and the impact of inhibitors was negative. The findings validate the importance and existence of inhibitors along with enablers of mobile payments. The findings would benefit the government, policymakers, marketers, and other stakeholders interested in digitization of the rural economy, empowerment of rural people, and rural market penetration. Abstract: Using a grounded theory approach, our study identified 6 types of values derived by software users. Although the participants in the debriefing session agreed with the values sought by them in using software as well as with the items in these values, there were differences in opinion about which values were critical to them. They asked whether we could analyze the data or collect more data to objectively find out the critical values in software use. We found the request to be interesting and conducted this study to investigate. We conducted the study using the widely accepted Kano model for attribute classification. The finding show that as expected items identified under Psychological Safety (comfort value) and Quality Value were key (must-have) for software users. By finding out the critical values in software use, perhaps for the first time in literature, this study has implications for software project managers and product managers in prioritizing the valuable features they should provide in their software application or product. Abstract: The success of open source software (OSS) projects depends on sustained contributions by developers who often display a wide variety of contribution patterns. Project leaders and stakeholders would strongly prefer that developers not only maintain but preferably increase their contributions over time as they gain experience. Corporations increasingly complement OSS developer motivations (such as fit in terms of shared values with the project community) by paying them to sustain contributions. However, practitioners argue whether payment helps or hurts projects because monetary compensation may dampen developer motivation in the long run, making it difficult for project leaders to understand what to expect from developers over time. Using Herzberg's motivation-hygiene framework, we explore how developers' perceptions of value fit with the project and being paid interact to determine the level of code contribution and its rate of change over time (i.e., growth). Using a survey of 564 developers across 431 projects on GitHub, we build a threelevel growth model explaining the code contribution and its growth over a six-month period. We find that value fit with the project positively influences both the level and growth of code contribution. However, there are notable differences among paid and unpaid developers in the impact of value fit on their level and growth in code contributions over time. The implications of our work will be of interest to researchers, practitioners, and organizations investing in open source projects. Business. Pratyush holds a PhD in information systems from the University of Pittsburgh. His research interests are interdisciplinary with a focus on the development, application, and impact of information systems. On the technology supply side, his work investigates how online collaboration communities can better develop technological artifacts such as open source software. On the demand side, he investigates factors that affect the adoption of IT, and the effect on user satisfaction and firm performance. In addition, he focuses on developing predictive-analytic tools to better utilize the strengths of the prediction-oriented approach (vis-à-vis the explanation-oriented approach) to create robust theory and policy. He has published in distinguished management research journals including the School of Business, University of Arkansas. He has published extensively in the information systems field, with over 300 refereed journal publications, with ten recent articles ranking him among the top four researchers globally. Dr. Grover has an h-index of 96 which is ranked in the top 5 in the field, and over 44,000 citations in Google Scholar. Thompson Reuters recognized him as one of 100 Highly Cited Scholars globally in all Business disciplines. He is senior editor for MISQ Executive, editor of the Journal of the Association for Information Systems Section on Path Breaking Research, and has served as senior editor for MIS Quarterly (2 terms), the Journal of the Association for Information Systems (2 terms), and The Data Base for Advances in Information Systems. Dr. Grover's current work focuses on the impacts of digitalization on individuals and organizations. He is the recipient of numerous awards from USC, Clemson, University of Arkansas, AIS, Academy of Management, DSI, the OR Society, Anbar, PriceWaterhouse, among others for his research and teaching. Abstract: Artificial intelligence-based clinical diagnostic decision support systems promise transformational improvements in doctors’ efficiency and accuracy. Nevertheless, low adoption rates suggest that this innovation could fail without adequate uptake. This study uses a mixed-methods approach to develop and test a model based on theories of Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology, status quo bias, and technology trust. The results show that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, initial trust, and resistance to change predict intention to use. Further, inertia, perceived threat, and risks (medico-legal and performance) determine resistance to change. Measures for alleviating resistance and improving adoption are proposed. Collapse

Abstract: Agile can be seen as an accelerator to develop software, yet it suffers from bottlenecks between development and operations. DevOps can overcome bottlenecks between agile development teams and operations, notably by providing continuous integration, delivery and deployment, thus improving end-to-end processes between development and operations functions. However, literature on DevOps effects is scant. Using job design characteristics theory and Herzberg’s job satisfaction theory, this paper investigates perceptions of job (dis)satisfaction, risks and work conditions among 59 employees working within 12 agile and DevOps teams in the same firm. Findings show that DevOps provides greater job satisfaction than agile alone. However, this case study also unveiled an effect of risk amplification with DevOps, and the greater need to orchestrate automation and sharing, contingent on work conditions. We theorise that orchestration of interactions between automation and sharing and related risks must be managed to improve job satisfaction when agile teams transition to DevOps. Collapse

Abstract: Platform providers can use Boundary Resources (BR) to enable complementors to utilize the platform to create value, simultaneously controlling the complementary output. Despite their significance, not much is currently known about the quality of BRs and their impact on the complementor satisfaction. This paper presents the results of the complementor satisfaction study in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) domain through the application of the critical incident technique (CIT). Applying the Kano model, the first result sheds light on how the platform providers affect complementor satisfaction through various BRs. The second result discovers satisfaction-relevant quality dimensions (QD) for each evaluated BR. Our findings show which BRs are suitable to leverage the satisfaction-driven complementor engagement in platform-based IIoT ecosystems, establishing a link between the decisions on BR quality and the platformbased innovation dynamics, if satisfaction is incorporated in the design of BRs. Abstract: Service organizations increasingly develop brand apps (mobile applications) to expand service channels to the mobile end. Attracting their customers to install the brand app is critical. But there is widespread resistance to brand apps. This resistance can be classified as postponement, opposition and rejection. This study explores consumers’ active resistance of brand app in service organization. We examine the effects of adoption barriers and knowledge of alternatives quality on the three resistance behaviors and moderating effects of satisfaction with off-line service. The results show three resistance behaviors are affected by different reasons, and crosschannel synergy exists. Our study extends the theoretical understanding of the antecedents of and cross-channel influences on resistance to brand apps, with practical implications that managers should adopt different strategies for postponers, opponents and rejecters. Abstract: Organizations have increasingly begun to co-create innovations, conduct idea competitions, or conduct crowdsourcing initiatives with customers in online communities. Yet, many customer-integration methods fail to attract sufficient customer participation and engagement. We draw on previous research to identify customers’ experience as an important determinant of whether customer-integration initiatives succeed. However, research has rarely applied the notion of experience in the context of customer integration. We conduct a cross-disciplinary literature review to identify the factors that constitute a positive customer-integration experience and the implications of the customer-integration experience. Based on 141 papers from marketing, technology and innovation management, information systems, human-computer interaction, and psychology research, we derive a framework for customer-integration experience that integrates 22 conceptually different influencing factors, 15 implications, and their interrelatedness based on motivation-hygiene theory. The framework sheds light on the current state of research on customer-integration experience and identifies possibilities for future research. Collapse
