Abstract: This research aims to investigate the impact of social media marketing activities (SMMa) on brand loyalty directly and through mediating variables community engagement and lovemark. To propose a research model, we used the theories including lovemark theory, engagement theory and brand equity theory. As a result, this research investigates the impact of SMMa, community engagement, and lovemark on brand loyalty. Using an online survey, we collected data from 464 female participants who are following luxury fashion brands on major social networking sites including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter. Results using PLS revealed that SMMa positively influences community engagement and lovemark. Moreover, we find positive relationships between community engagement, lovemark and brand loyalty. However, we find that SMMa has no direct influence on brand loyalty. Collapse

Abstract: The past decades have seen increased integration of South Asia into the global economy, yet the study on management practices in this region is behind its expansion of business. This study explores the impact of tribalism and collectivism on ethically questionable negotiation strategies in two of the most important emerging economies in South Asia – India and Pakistan. The empirical results show that participants from Pakistan consider ethically questionable negotiation strategies to be more appropriate than those from India due to high tribalism in Pakistan. In addition, this study further shows that collectivism is significantly related to the perceived appropriateness of ethically questionable negotiation strategies in Pakistan but not in India. Implications and future research for contextualizing international business research and human management practices in South Asia are then discussed. Collapse

Abstract: This study aims to build on the understanding of social commerce in the emerging markets and how it influences online community engagement. The conceptual model was proposed using theories including the social support theory, the trust theory, the social presence theory, the flow theory and the service-dominant logic theory. Using Facebook online community, the data were collected from 400 respondents from Jordan and analysed using AMOS based structural equation modelling. Results revealed that social commerce constructs positively influence social support, community members’ trust and social presence. Furthermore, it was found that social support and social presence positively affect community members’ trust. We also found that community members’ trust positively influence flow whereas both community members’ trust and flow positively influence community engagement. Collapse

Abstract: Software-based innovations with global marketpotential are the main product offering of digital-based International New Ventures, an emerging type of rapidly internationalizing firm. Despite increasing research attention on the internationalization phases of these firms, knowledge of how the characteristics of the firm’s software offerings change over time remains scarce. In this paper, we analyze how standardization, customization and localization evolve through the growth and commitment of International New Ventures in foreign markets. Specifically, we posit that an entrepreneurial decision-making logic based on a logic of effectuation or causation acts as a trigger mechanism for specific software changes over time. Therefore, this article responds to calls for research on digital entrepreneurship and thus contributes to information system, international business, and entrepreneurship literature. Collapse

Abstract: Amongst the research of institutional logics, field-level logics have continuously gained interest among scholars. A cultural emergence model of field-level logics was proposed in the latest development of the institutional logics perspective (Thornton et al. 2012). This study aims to validate a section of the model: the relationship between resource environment and emergence and evolution of field-level logics, and do so in the context of Apple’s independent Mac OS X developers – Mac indies. Through a qualitative interpretive study, and a combination of narrative and content analysis, we identify the resource environment of Mac indies: platform governance and developers’ own economy, and examine a critical platform governance change from Apple – its role shift from being primarily a technological platform to one that includes a market exchange, and show that a software ecosystem logic prevailed for Mac developers prior to the change, and a platform ecosystem logic emerged after that. Abstract: Many security problems are caused by vulnerabilities hidden in enterprise computer networks. It is very important for system administrators to have knowledge about the security vulnerabilities. However, current vulnerability assessment methods may encounter the issues of high false positive rates, long computational time, and requirement of developing attack codes. Moreover, they are only capable of locating individual vulnerabilities on a single host without considering correlated effect of these vulnerabilities on a host or a section of network with the vulnerabilities possibly distributed among different hosts. To address these issues, an active vulnerability assessment system NetScope with C/S architecture is developed for evaluating computer network security based on open vulnerability assessment language instead of simulating attacks. The vulnerabilities and known attacks with their prerequisites and consequences are modeled based on predicate logic theory and are correlated so as to automatically construct potential attack paths with strong operation power of relational database management system. The testing results from a series of experiments show that this system has the advantages of a low false positive rate, short running periods, and little impact on the performance of audited systems and good scalability. The security vulnerabilities, undetectable if assessed individually in a network, are discovered without the need to simulate attacks. It is shown that the NetScope system is well suited for vulnerability assessment of large-scale computer networks such as campus networks and enterprise networks. Abstract: This paper presents a logic modeling exercise in which we develop, test and implement a logic model for a text editor and use it to test existing text editing software. We begin by presenting a first order Horn logic axiomatization of a text editor by providing domain equations for the primitive operations insert, delete and character retrieval. We show that this logic model captures the essential aspects of the text editing task and how more complex features are built using these primitives. We discuss possible implementations and conclude that any operational semantics — the set of algorithms that perform the task — must be strongly related to the logic model we present. In other words, each operational semantics constitutes a model of the logic theory. Next, we illustrate the usefulness of the model by implementing a basic text editing system and testing the correctness of an existing text editor. We conclude by describing how we are integrating these modeling techniques into a larger and more complex knowledge-based system. Collapse
