Abstract: This study extends the post-acceptance model of information systems (IS) continuance, which is widely used to explain users’ satisfaction and IS continuance intentions. The extended model includes additional variables such as perceived ease of use (PEOU), attitude, trust, and enjoyment. The proposed model was tested using metaanalytic structural equation modeling (MASEM). The analysis included 1,056 observations on fifteen relation ships from 214 independent studies with a combined sample of 84,343. The results confirm the significance of all the relationships proposed in the original model. Furthermore, the findings indicate that PEOU directly in fluences perceived usefulness, satisfaction, and attitude. Trust and enjoyment both have a positive impact on users’ satisfaction and IS continuance, wherein the effect of enjoyment was higher than trust. post-consumption satisfaction resulted in a favorable attitude toward technology, which further affected IS continuance. From a theoretical perspective, the current study acknowledges the shift in users’ attitude toward technology and em phasizes the hedonic value of IS usage as users report a higher degree of satisfaction toward responsive, easy to use, and enjoyable technologies. Marketers should focus on the enjoyment and gratifications derived from technology to increase potential IS usage. Collapse

Abstract: Topic models have great potential for helping researchers and practitioners understand the electronic word of mouth (eWoM). This potential is thwarted by their purely unsupervised nature, which often leads to topics that are not entirely explainable. We develop a novel method to iteratively generate seed words to guide the interactive topic models. We assess the validity and applicability of the proposed method by investigating the critical phenomenon of Contact Tracing Mobile Applications (CTMAs) post-adoption during a time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The results show that constructs developed through our interactive topic modeling can capture primary research variables related to the phenomenon. Compared to existing topic modeling methods, our approach shows superior performance in explaining users' satisfaction with CTMAs. Collapse

Abstract: Thanks to artificial intelligence, chatbots have been applied to many consumer-facing applications, especially to online travel agencies (OTAs). This study aims to identify five quality dimensions of chatbot services and investigate their effect on user confirmation, which in turn leads to use continuance. In addition, the moderating role of technology anxiety in the relationships between chatbot quality dimensions and post-use confirmation is examined. Survey data were gathered from 295 users of Chinese OTAs. Partial Least Square (PLS) was used to analyze measurement and structural models. Understandability, reliability, assurance, and interactivity are positively associated with post-use confirmation and technology anxiety moderates the relationships between four chatbot quality dimensions and confirmation. Confirmation is positively associated with satisfaction, which in turn influences use continuance intention. This study examines how chatbot services in OTAs are considered by users (human-like agents vs. technology-enabled services) by investigating the moderating role of technology anxiety. Collapse

Abstract: The use of mobile applications (apps) has been growing in the world of technology, a phenomenon related to the increasing number of smartphone users. Even though the mobile apps market is huge, few studies have been made on what makes individuals continue to use a mobile app or stop using it. This study aims to uncover the factors that underlie the continuance intention to use mobile apps, addressing two theoretical models: Expectation confirmation model (ECM) and the extended unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT2). A total of 304 questionnaires were collected by survey to test the theoretical framework proposal, using structural equation modelling (SEM). Our findings indicate that the most important drivers of continuance intention of mobile apps are satisfaction, habit, performance expectancy, and effort expectancy. Collapse

Abstract: Location-based applications (LBA) have been widely accepted and used for different purposes ranging from navigation to dating or gaming. Most LBAs ask users to provide access to location data for more efficient and personalized location-based services. Location intelligence as an emerging area of business intelligence relies heavily on disclosing location information by users. This research builds a continuance usage and location disclosure model from the expectation-confirmation perspective. The effect of benefit expectations on usefulness and satisfaction is hypothesized. In addition, the positive effect of usefulness on satisfaction and continuance intention is postulated. After collecting survey data from main LBA users, the results of the analysis support the proposed model. Findings contribute to the current literature in business intelligence by focusing on location disclosure behavior in the context of LBAs and the necessity of this type of information for location intelligence. Abstract: As more and more organizations adopt a “mobile by default” approach to information systems and work design, studying mobile work as a post-adoption phenomenon is both important and timely. Using data collected from 238 Chinese mobile workers, this study develops and validates a model of mobile work continuance. Our findings suggest that the expectation-confirmation framework provides strong theoretical support for explaining mobile work continuance, and that performance, technical support, management support, data security concerns and work life balance concerns affect knowledge workers’ mobile work continuance intention collectively. Abstract: Information systems and teams are essential for organizations achieve competitive advantages. In fact, the team’s ability to adapt to continuous changes in the organizational environment may depend on IS and consequently in their usage. In the post-adoption stage, user behavior can assume a routine or an innovative nature. In routine usage, IS is used in a standardized way with small variations whereas in innovative usage, the user search for novel ways to perform work tasks. These distinctive usage behaviors may have different effects on task and team performance. Also, may affect the ability of a team to be aligned and be adaptable to organizational context. This paper proposes a multilevel conceptual model for IS usage behavior and the role of team ambidexterity in the usage-performance relationship. Abstract: Software platforms’ success largely depends on complementors’ willingness to repeatedly invest their time and effort to the development of platform applications that attract users and increase the platform’s installed base. But how can platform providers encourage desirable behaviours by complementors (i.e., application developers) in the absence of formal roles and hierarchical control structures? Although previous studies of software-based platforms have identified openness as critical instrument at the macro (i.e., platform) level and have provided initial attempts to measure the construct, no research has been dedicated to comprehensively conceptualize and operationalize platform openness at the micro level from the perspective of application developers. To go beyond these preliminary findings and to theorize about the nature and effects of platform openness as perceived by application developers, we develop a construct called perceived platform openness (PPO). Drawing on recently advanced scale development methodologies, we conceptualize PPO as a multidimensional construct and empirically validate it with important consequent variables linked to developers’ continuous platform contributions. Empirical evidence from several rounds of qualitative and quantitative steps supports the conceptual validity of the construct and empirical relevance of the scale across different smartphone platform contexts (i.e., Apple iOS and Google Android). Researchers will benefit from the study’s systematic and comprehensive conceptualization of PPO, how it is measured, and how it relates to critical application developer beliefs and attitudes. Platform managers may use our results to target the underlying facets of PPO most likely to contribute to the platform’s long-term goals. Collapse

Abstract: We developed a model to investigate the factors influencing two different post-adoption behaviors of e-service users based on the Post-Acceptance Model of IS Continuance (IS continuance model): (1) continuance intention to use e-services; and (2) Word of Mouth (WOM) behavior. We tested the research model using a survey of 543 usable responses in China. Our findings show that satisfaction and perceived usefulness positively affect continuance intention, which, together with perceived usefulness, positively influences the WOM behavior. The two different post-adoption behaviors of e-service users, continuance intention and WOM, are closely related. Implications for theory and practice are also discussed. Collapse

Abstract: Consumers’ use of mobile data applications is expected to rise significantly in the next few years. While user acceptance and adoption of mobile applications have received growing interest from IS researchers, only a paucity of studies have focused on user continuance behaviors in the mobile commerce context. Studying the IS continuance behavior of 147 registered users of an information-oriented mobile application, this research extends the general model of IS continuance to include a number of explanatory antecedents: information quality, system quality, process quality, and hedonic value. The enhanced framework makes a significant contribution to the theory of IS continuance intention, and at the same time, it offers implications to mobile service providers for creating high quality mobile applications for consumers.
