Abstract: The emergence of data ecosystems with platform-based infrastructures continuously demonstrate the potential of value creation based on data. In this context, data governance has become an emerging topic in recent IS literature as organizations require a more sophisticated approach over the management of their data assets. However, the implications of organizations interacting within new forms of inter-organizational collaborations have not been sufficiently explored. We first elaborate on the topic of data governance to derive intra-and inter-organizational characteristics of data governance. Using a case study approach, we examine three firms developing data-driven business models that rely on ecosystems in their business-tobusiness (B2B) operations. We analyze new implications arising to each individual with regard to data governance and indicate that data governance requires a broader research perspective, one that takes the dynamics outside a single organization in ecosystems into consideration. Abstract: While performance appraisals provide an opportunity for managers to review employee performance, prior research points to potential negative consequences associated with performance appraisals. Specifically, prior IS research suggests that relative and criticism-based appraisals can have an undesirable impact on employee behaviour. Motivated by this, in this study we theorised and empirically investigated how relative and criticism-based appraisals can influence an IT project member’s tendency to continue working on a task despite encountering serious setbacks (i.e., task-level escalation). To shed light on the underlying mechanisms through which appraisals influence task-level escalation, we proposed and tested two mediating pathways based on goal orientation theory and prospect theory. In a laboratory experiment, we found that a relative appraisal led to greater task-level escalation as compared to an absolute appraisal. Proving goal orientation and avoiding goal orientation mediated this relationship. In addition, we found that a criticism-based appraisal led to greater task-level escalation as compared to a praise-based appraisal. Risk propensity and self-esteem mediated this relationship. Lastly, we found that the effects of both a relative appraisal and a criticism-based appraisal on task-level escalation were significantly different from a control group that did not involve any form of performance appraisal. Abstract: This article deals with the process-oriented integration of product development and service documentation for the support of technical customer services (TCS) in machine and plant construction, illustrated on the example of the heating, air conditioning and sanitary engineering (HAS) branch. Both using mobile application systems and creating a product service system can increase the efficiency of procedures in service provision. The development and provision of the product service system calls for an interdisciplinary perspective. The problem, as well as the solution on the basis of hybrid added value, the structure of the product service system, the IT-concept and the implementation of the service process modeling will be discussed in detail in this article. Abstract: Seamlessly merging real and virtual reality, Augmented Reality (AR) is a promising technology that offers novel ways to use IS outside the office. For a company it is hard to determine whether to put R&D efforts into such an innovative technology. Developing methods to model, describe, assess and analyze such new technologies is a main challenge of the IS discipline. The purpose of this work is to support a decision concerning the adoption of an innovative technology. Yet, it is not known how the use of this technology would change business processes and also several uncertainties must be addresses. A threestep approach, dealing with these problems is proposed. To generate knowledge about how to use this technology scenarios are identified and analyzed within a framework.
