Abstract: This study empirically examines the impact of intellectual capital on the frontiers of e-business entrepreneurial orientation and how intellectual capital and e-business entrepreneurial orientation contribute to competitive agility. A questionnaire was used for data collection from telecommunication companies and obtained from a sample of 212 participants. Data analysis was conducted using a structural equation modeling approach using smart PLS. The results show the positive impact of human capital, structural capital, and relational capital on e-business entrepreneurial orientation. The findings also indicate a direct positive impact of intellectual capital and e-business entrepreneurial orientation on competitive agility. An understanding of the impact of intellectual capital, e-business entrepreneurial orientation dimensions, and their relationship with competitive agility will provide organizations with a better background and knowledge on how to foster and manage these capabilities. Abstract: The adoption of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), initiated by employees, refers to the provision and use of personal mobile devices and applications for both private and business purposes. This bottom-up phenomenon, not initiated by managers, corresponds to a reversed IT adoption logic that simultaneously entails business opportunities and threats. Managers are thus confronted with this unchosen BYOD usage by employees and consequently adopt different coping strategies. This research aims to investigate the adaptation strategies em­ braced by managers to cope with the BYOD phenomenon. To this end, we operationalized the coping model of user adaptation (CMUA) in the organizational decision-making context to conduct a survey addressing 337 top managers. Our main results indicate that the impact of the CMUA constructs varies according to the period (preor post-implementation). The coping strategies differ between those who have already implemented measures to regulate BYOD usage and those who have not. We contribute to theory by integrating the perception of BYODrelated opportunities and threats and by shedding light on the decisional processes in the adoption of coping strategies. The managerial contributions of this research correspond to the improved protection of corporate information and the maximization of BYOD-related benefits. Collapse

Abstract: Overcoming the failure of SMEs has been an important research topic. The critical research finding is that it has verified the essential elements of performance improvement. We presented a solution to the research question, "Is there a causal relationship between the effect on SMEs' success on capacity and business performance?". We analyzed whether the competence of SMEs had a mediating effect between success variables and performance. Secondary effects were empirically studied by converting independent variables to Higher-Order Component (HOC). The second-order variable of management influenced financial, nonfinancial, and technical performance, and the secondorder variable of technology affected technical performance. As a result of introducing demographic variables as a controlling variable for performance, gender, and year of establishment showed a moderating effect on technical and non-financial performance. We expect to contribute to practical application to SME CEOs and government policymakers, support organizations, academia, and industry. Collapse

Abstract: Digital platforms, e.g., like Alibaba, are currently revolutionizing and shaping the business ecosystem and transforming how firms build a competitive advantage. Decision-makers recognize the opportunities created by these new digital technologies, but to create compelling digital platforms, a firm requires digital platform capabilities (DPC). This study tries to explain how enterprise architecture (EA)-driven capabilities, conceptualized as dynamic capabilities, enhance DPC and the firms' networking capability (NC), i.e., its ability to initiate, maintain, and utilize relationships with other players. A research model is developed with associated hypotheses. Data is collected from 414 respondents, including senior managers, executives, enterprise architects, IT, and business managers, to test the hypotheses. The findings show that EA-driven dynamic capabilities enhance both DPC and NC. This research advances our current understanding of how EA-driven dynamic capabilities drive DPC and NC to form the foundation for achieving business value during the COVID-19 shock. Collapse

Abstract: China’s digital ventures are becoming increasingly popular on the global landscape, attracting signif-icant attention on their digital innovation ecosystem; meanwhile, the reduction of communication cost and the convergence of digital technology are distributing the control over innovation activities and amplifying the knowledge heterogeneity, inducing a serious challenge. Facing this problem, collaborative knowledge activities could provide a solution, but in China, there is very limited under-standing of this due to the existence of “guanxi”- influential relationships in Chinese culture. To address the gap, we adopt a mixed-methods research approach to explore how guanxi and structural holes affect knowledge acquisition and knowledge integration among Chinese digital ventures at dif-ferent stages in doubly distributed innovation networks. Our findings indicate that guanxi fosters the acquisition and integration of knowledge by creating a buffer zone, around which knowledge re-sources flow in the form of favor exchange, ‘renqing’ (favor) accumulation, and ‘mianzi’ (face) preservation. Hence we make three contributions: 1) recognizing guanxi as a shock absorber to lessen the detrimental impacts induced by excessive structural holes situated in innovation networks; 2) iden-tifying the significance of integrators in Chinese culture; 3) uncovering when and what type of guanxi is utilized the most for China’s digital ventures. Abstract: Turnover of information system (IS) personnel is a critical problem for organizations. To gain a better understanding of turnover, researchers have explored career orientations that characterize an employee's internal motivations and desires. The inability of an organization to match career desires is often related to measures indicative of turnover in IS employees, including intent to leave and career dissatisfaction, though empirical evidence is indirect and inconclusive. Using career orientations, this study explicitly models the impact of the discrepancy between the wants of employees and employee perceptions of how their organization satisfies those wants. The model is based on discrepancy theory and predicts the gap is closely related to the turnover indicators. Model predictions hold true for a sample of 153 IS personnel. These results indicate the importance of developing career plans that employees perceive as matching their wants. Collapse

Abstract: The career orientations of employees can have important implications for their job satisfaction, commitment, and retention within organizations. However, there is little empirical research on the correlates of career orientations held by managers and professionals in the MIS field. This study sought to address this gap in the fiterature and assessed the career orientations of 464 MIS employees, as well as their relationship with selected demographic characteristics, job type, and career outcomes. The most prevalent career orientations of MIS employees were found to be technical and managerial. Autonomy and lifestyle orientations were also found to be moderately represented in the sample. Women were more fifestyle oriented and less technically oriented than men. In addition, systems programmers, applications programmers, and software engineers tended to be technically oriented, whereas systems analysts, project leaders, and computer managers tended to be managerially oriented. The most significant finding was that employees whose career orientations were compatible with their job setting reported high job satisfaction, high career satisfaction, strong commitment to their organization, and low intentions to leave their organization. Firms need to recognize the diversity of career orientations so that appropriate reward systems and career paths can be developed. Research on this topic should continue to examine characteristics unique to MIS employees, as well as how these interrelationships change over time at different career stages. Collapse
