Abstract: Despite the increasing attention and research effort, how to protect sensitive information from shoulder surfing attacks is still under studied. Existing methods for protecting sensitive textual content on users' screens from shoulder surfing attacks have various limitations, including ineffectiveness, insufficient protection of sensitive information, low usability, and high cognitive workload. To address those limitations, this paper proposes, develops, and evaluates a new solution called "detection and labeling" (D&L), which uses NLP techniques to automatically detect and label sensitive information in the textual content. The labeled and hidden sensitive information is then read to users through their headphones upon their clicking a label. Evaluation results demonstrate that D&L improves protection, enhances usability, reduces users' cognitive workload, and allows faster browsing speed compared to the baseline methods. Collapse

Abstract: The use of augmented reality (AR) in education and training is growing increasingly. However, applications to integrate augmented reality learning content into training for basic electrical engineering courses are scarce. The individual learning objectives of trainees complicate the digitalization of learning content, particularly for the drawing of circuit diagrams. To increase trainees' learning outcome while simultaneously relieving instructors of classroom supervision, we designed and developed an AR-based prototype, to enhance hand-drawn circuit diagrams in vocational training. The context sensitivity is achieved by combining AR with image recognition. In an experiment with twelve participants, a positive impact of the prototype on trainees' learning outcomes was observed, in comparison to a control group that received instructions without the prototype. Abstract: The role played by decentralised services in the obfuscation of crypto-asset transactions performed on transparent blockchains has increasingly captured the attention of regulators. This is exemplified by the headlines about the U.S. Treasury's sanctions on the Ethereum-based mixer Tornado Cash. Yet, despite the existing controversies on the use of mixers, the different functionalities of these information systems with an inherent dark side remain to be explored by the literature. So far, contributions primarily encompass technical works and studies that focus on the Bitcoin ecosystem. This paper puts forward a multi-layer taxonomy of the smart-contract-based -and, therefore, functionally richer -family of mixers on Ethereum. Our proposed taxonomy is grounded on (1) a review of existing literature, (2) an analysis of mixers' project documentation, (3) their corresponding smart contracts, and (4) expert interviews. Our evaluation included the application of the taxonomy to two mixers -RAILGUN and zkBob. The taxonomy represents a valuable tool for law enforcement, regulators, and other stakeholders to explore critical properties affecting compliance and use of Ethereum-based mixers. Collapse

Abstract: In the current era of digital transformation, organizations are faced with an unprecedented volume of data that requires proper management. In order to effectively manage this data, organizations need to understand the data's requirements and usage. In addition, organizations want to leverage this data to improve their business processes and gain valuable insights. Unfortunately, many organizations lack visibility into which data attributes are being used within their processes and at what stage of the process they are being used. To address this problem, this paper presents a prototype called ADAM that uses process mining to identify data attributes and their associated metadata from processes. We provide a detailed description of the requirements gathered for the prototype and explain the design and implementation of ADAM. In particular, we show how ADAM can be utilized to identify data attributes and their specifications used in processes from an SAP ERP system. Collapse

Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) assessment to mitigate risks arising from biased, unreliable, or regulatory non-compliant systems remains an open challenge for researchers, policymakers, and organizations across industries. Due to the scattered nature of research on AI across disciplines, there is a lack of overview on the challenges that need to be overcome to move AI assessment forward. In this study, we synthesize existing research on AI assessment applying a descriptive literature review. Our study reveals seven challenges along three main categories: ethical implications, regulatory gaps, and technical limitations. Abstract: Educational videos play an important role in university education. However, they are often not designed to foster active learning and the learning process is not immersive. Interactive digital storytelling is a promising game design element but requires a rigorous evaluation to avoid negative side effects. Therefore, we adopt a design science research approach to design and evaluate an interactive video that includes interactive storytelling and real-world recordings. The proposed artifact aims to raise information security awareness among bachelor students at a German university for malicious USB sticks and the reporting of incidents. In our evaluation, we focus on learning progress before and after using the video as well as qualitative feedback about the experience with the learning object. Our results show that videos that are based on interactive choice-based storytelling can foster an active and immersive process, and significant learning outcomes. Collapse

Abstract: Patent management tasks involve many stakeholders from diverse disciplines and hierarchies as well as from inside and outside the organization. By drawing on the transaction cost and stakeholder theories, Blockchain technology offers new opportunities to rethink the way in which stakeholders are organized and collaborate. Although Blockchain technology receives considerable attention from both the public and academia, the question of how Blockchain technology leverages patent management in particular has so far been neglected, although it holds great promise. Consequently, this is what we choose to be our basic research question. In response to it, we conduct a systematic literature review, following a procedure in three steps. Out of an initial sample of 714 articles, we select 52 as being particularly relevant, and classify them in accordance with the dimensions of the 7D Patent Management Maturity Model. Three main foci regarding the use of Blockchain technology emerge – i. e. for the generation, the enforcement, and the exploitation of patents. This study contributes to scholarship and management by showing that Blockchain technology mitigates environmental and behavioral uncertainty, while stimulating new governance forms and business models by reorganizing or discarding stakeholders. Abstract: Organizations are increasingly concerned with the continuous reassessment and redesign of their products, processes, and business models to remain competitive in uncertain environments. Thereby, mental models, routines, and behaviors of individuals and entire organizations need to be updated to fit changing demands and environmental factors. 'Unlearning' is a promising approach to achieve this because it allows knowledge to be refined and adapted to novel situations. Unlearning established ways of thinking and doing effectively poses, however, several challenges that could be mitigated by an appropriate tool support. By following a qualitative systematic review of literature from Information Systems and adjacent disciplines, we identified and synthesized existing tools and guidance to assist individuals, teams, and organizations in unlearning. With our study, we contribute to an integrated overview of practical support for unlearning based on a sample of 41 papers as well as useful guidance for practitioners, designers, and researchers.
